The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has deemed Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) one of the top five environmental health risks the US faces today. Because homes and commercial buildings are tighter and tighter these days and are bringing in less fresh air, the agency says indoor pollutants levels can be two to five times -- and sometimes more than 100 times -- as high as outdoor levels.
AtmosAir's novel technology does not attempt to trap air contaminates like a filter, but allows air to flow through a patented ionization tube. The tube energizes the air to form bi-polar (or positive and negative) air ions. The airflow then distributes the ions throughout the room. This natural process uses no chemicals, no mercury or other heavy metals and produces no harmful by-products such as ozone or ultra-violet light.
